After tapping Casey Nicholaw to replace Jerry Zaks as director, the producers of All About Me have announced that the show will begin previews on February 22 at Henry Miller’s Theatre rather than the previously announced start date of February 19. Starring cabaret great Michael Feinstein and Dame Edna Everage (the comic character created by Barry Humphries), All About Me will open as scheduled on March 18.
A revised set of credits for All About Me, described as a singular and spectacular evening of musical entertainment, has also been announced. The two stars will share a “written by” credit with playwright Christopher Durang. In addition, the show is said to be “conceived by Feinstein and Humphries, with Lizzie Spender and Terrence Flannery.” Spender, the daughter of poet Stephen Spender, is married to Humphries; Flannery married Feinstein in October 2008. Nicholaw stepped in to direct the production after Zaks signed on as a creative consultant for The Addams Family.
All About Me is being produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Robert G. Bartner and the Ambassador Theater Group.
